Let’s say you had a choice… get a first-class seat on a plane for $500 or fly for $50. Naturally, you opt in for the $50 seat, right? That’s a no-brainer.
Until you find out the details.
The $50 seat comes with no frills. No luggage, no food, not even a reclining seat. It may or may not leave on time, has a couple connections, and by the way, the pilot just learned how to fly using Microsoft Flight Simulator(r), and an older, free version at that. For some reason, they got the job due to a relaxing of FAA rules, combined with the discount carrier’s bottom-line goals. Acting as the captain of this flight, they have very limited experience in the front deck and will not have slept the night before as they will be coming off a red-eye from the west coast. Regardless, they took the route because they need the money to pay their overdue rent. Not good.
Suddenly, your $50 flight doesn’t sound like much of a bargain, does it?
It is the same thing with learning to day trade stock options.
You likely would never risk your life to insane flying conditions, so why would you risk your financial future? We get it, there are many “free” programs that supposedly teach you something about stock trading. Especially as a newbie, they sound enticing and you may actually learn a thing or two. But if you are serious about learning to trade, nothing beats that benefits of personal, face-to-face mentorship. Draw on the experience of your mentors that only a live interaction can provide.
With a seasoned coach who actually cares about your success, you place your trust in that person to guide and protect you. A true mentor understands your needs and works with you, at your speed, and tailors their approach to your safe landings. Personal tutors will recognize the traps, show you the tricks and give you tips to navigate this complex maze of options. Last I heard, 95% of options traders quit within a year because they blow up their accounts. I’m guessing you do not want to be one of the casualties.
All trainers are not the same. You need to find someone you trust and feel comfortable with, someone who will respond to you. Even if in a group setting, your regular “one-on-one” time with a trusted advisor will more than offset the cost, especially when you factor in the losses you will undoubtedly endure by using free online resources. There really is no substitute for a live, experienced, empathetic instructor.
Options trading is no joke, and you can easily lose your money. I quiver when I see the exaggerated claims of people making globs of cash, knowing that many will be lured into the web of false hopes and dreams. We see it all too often. Aspiring traders tell us their horror stories, wishing they could turn back time, but can no longer trade until they rebuild their war chest. I once chatted with a fellow who had to wait for a rich relative to pass away so he could secure his inheritance with which to trade. Had he not fallen for a quick hit meme stock several years ago, he would likely be on easy street now.
We at DayTradeSPY have been coaching traders now in our 16th year. Many have come to us after they recognized the perils of all the “free” material available online. Our stance is that if those who fall into the cheap, online trading traps lose their money, they might as well lose it to you. We teach you how to be part of the 5% winning team. It is no accident that our members do very well in this crazy world of day trading.
Find out more at 8 p.m. ET, Sunday night, where we discuss trading in general, the week’s market activity and also how we
