Synergize with Two, Too Great Mentors

“Synergy:” how two or more parts’ combined effort produce results greater than the sum of their individual effects. Another common definition is “one plus one equals three.” We at DayTradeSPY have a slightly different phrase: “when our indicators unite, our trades ignite!” No truer words have been spoken!

Last week, I talked about the interaction between my left brain and right brain, and how I summon up the reasoning to enter a position from my intellectual side. It’s not an easy task to have this ongoing conflict, but when we add to this, the “other brain” of extraordinaire trader Jon Johnson, suddenly we feed off each other, and our results skyrocket.

Our distinctive approach summons up not just the expert opinion of just one mentor, but two highly experienced traders who have been exposed to the stock market for a combined 45+ years. This friendly Texan, Jon, comes from a highly respected background of commercial litigation. He left a very lucrative career in corporate law to become a well sought-after options trader trainer. After years of working with Eagle Financial Publications, he teamed up with me, Hugh Grossman, to lead the world-renowned DayTradeSPY trading room. My background is from the corporate business world, having spent years in insurance internal audit, where I learned the concept of risk management and the comfort of working with numbers. Along with building my trading acumen, Jon and I developed viable strategies that work in any market. This is especially important in today’s volatility, where investors are trying to conceptualize ultra-high valuations in an AI world, jostled by a lack of data due to record-breaking government shutdowns, all while anticipating a divided Fed toying with interest rates.
