FreedomFest Follow-up

It was a long, arduous journey from the east to Palm Springs, California for FreedomFest 2025… and worth every minute of it!

FreedomFest is an exciting annual festival where people who value freedom and liberty gather to discuss ideas and celebrate intellectual discourse in an open-minded environment. We were fortunate to be invited, hosted in part by Eagle Financial Publication’s Mark Skousen. Thank you for that, Mark.

We enjoyed hanging out with the awesome staff at Eagle. My Trading Room partner, Jon Johnson, and I also cherish the opportunity to meet some of our subscribers, some of whom also traveled a long way to get here.

Walking the aisles and talking to various vendors reminded me of the freedoms we enjoy in this country and how vital it is to protect them. We take for granted what others cannot even fathom. The ability for the average American to trade stocks is an absolute privilege I would safeguard to my dying day. Imagine living in a country where you are prohibited outright from engaging in this business activity. If you live in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Afghanistan, Congo or Russia as an example, don’t even think about trading. Some countries have specific restrictions, such as Turkey, Japan, Iraq, Pakistan and many others. If you plan on retiring overseas and look to trade, you’d better check first.

In some ways, it’s too bad we have a festival to promote freedoms; I assumed that was protected by the Constitution. FreedomFest confirmed just how fragile our rights and freedoms really are, and how slyly they can be lost if we fail to protect them. As for trading stocks and their related derivatives, there is no better country in which to engage.

I appreciate the freedom with which I can make money and also lose money. In some twisted way, my losses are what made me strong today. Had I not taken massive hits along the way, I would have never learned my lessons. I don’t need a government coddling me; what I need is the freedom to develop my strengths and the freedom to fail. If I were to check back to my earlier logs, I would find entries that would question my sanity to stay in this business as long as I have. Covered calls, spreads, naked trades… I did them all, mostly to fall flat on my face. A big ‘thank you’ to the American stock market for that. Without those dismal results, I would never be in the position I am today…  humbly declaring that last week, we had 30 lucrative trades and two losses. And that was a four-day week.

Translated, that means that successful traders are able to do what they want, whenever they want, with whomever they want. That is Jon’s definition of success, which I will also adopt as my own. For proof, I took my wife out for her birthday dinner… in Orlando, Florida. We live in the Western New York area. We spent several glorious days in the sunny south, not even concerned about the cost. Forgive me for sounding arrogant; that is certainly not the intent. As a trader, we are able to write our own paychecks, make money virtually at will and do it all without leaving the comfort of our homes.

To be clear, I am not a trading genius, just a regular guy who’s done it long enough to get good at it. So, here’s the thing: if I can do it, you certainly can too!

The key is to join the DayTradeSPY tribe. Engage in all we do. Learn from us. Exploit our knowledge and our commitment to helping you. Stay the course and work with us. Those who have hitched their wagon to ours a long time do very well as traders. From the words of some members, such as Tim P., “… you have helped me turn my options trading significantly to the better. Your presentation manner is excellent… relaxed and yet confident. Your leadership is outstanding. Teaching us how to fix and repair is GREAT!”. Mike W. posted, “great week guys, thank you for the good education and guidance, nice $2000+ week with only trading four days”.

Now, immerse yourself. Send customer service an email for the latest deals on the Trading RoomDTS SignalPick of the Day and the Inner Circle.
